A Year in Review "Wrestling"
Ignacio Youth Wrestling
2026 Year in Review
The 2026 season was a successful year of growth, opportunity, and investment in the young athletes of Ignacio Youth Wrestling. With the support of our community partners, families, and the Team Up grant, we were able to reduce financial barriers, improve our program, and ensure more children had the opportunity to participate in wrestling.
This year, Ignacio Youth Wrestling was proud to invest in our athletes by:
$1,800 in tournament costs: Covered tournament expenses for all children, allowing athletes to compete and gain valuable experience without placing additional financial strain on families.
$3,500 in scholarships and camps: Provided financial assistance for youth to attend wrestling camps and access additional training opportunities to develop their skills.
$1,500 in new peewee singlets: Purchased new singlets for our peewee program, improving equipment and providing our youngest wrestlers with updated team gear.
$1,800 in registration assistance: Covered the difference in registration costs for all children while continuing to keep wrestling affordable for local families. We have successfully maintained registration rates at half the cost, or less, of many surrounding communities. Even as insurance costs have increased, we have gone a step further by reducing our registration fees, ensuring that more children can participate without financial barriers.
Even while covering these expenses and expanding opportunities for our wrestlers, we were able to continue growing the club's savings and strengthening our financial foundation for future seasons.
We are incredibly grateful to Team Up and all of our supporters who help make these opportunities possible. Their support allows Ignacio Youth Wrestling to focus on what matters most: developing confident athletes, teaching discipline and sportsmanship, and creating opportunities for youth to grow both on and off the mat.
We are proud of what we accomplished in 2026 and look forward to continuing to build a stronger wrestling program for our community.
