Ignacio Youth Baseball

Our mission at Ignacio Youth Baseball is to guide young people through baseball development while instilling a sense of belonging, good sportsmanship, courage, honesty, and respect; and to continuously develop mental and physical skills that they can carry into high school sports and beyond.

Registration

Spring Registration

February 6, 2026 - March 15, 2026

Registration includes team jersey and hat.

Payment and copy of birth certificate will be needed for registration. If financial assistance is needed, please contact ignacioyouthbaseball@gmail.com prior to registering.

*Late registrations will not be accepted

Divisions

4U: Ages 4- 5 (all 4-year-olds and any new 5-year-olds) (4 Fun team)

6U: Ages 5-6 (Returning 5-year-olds and all 6-year-olds) (T-Ball)

8U: Ages 7-8 (Coach Pitch)

10U: Ages 9-10

12U: Ages 11-12

14U: Ages 13-14

* Age is determined by age as of 5/1/2026

Schedule

Practices for all divisions will begin early April

Games will begin late April and run through end of June

4u games played in Ignacio

6U games will take place in Ignacio and Bayfield

8U-12u games will take place in Ignacio, Bayfield, & Durango, and Pagosa.

Game days for T-Ball TBD

All league games (8u-12u) will be played on Saturdays in Ignacio, Bayfield, Pagosa Springs, or Durango. Each weekend, all teams and divisions will play in the same host community, with locations rotating between communities weekly.

Teams may also be allowed to schedule weekday pickup games with teams outside of our league (details to be determined).

T Ball updates

For the Spring 2026 season, T-Ball will be divided into two groups to better support player development and enjoyment:

4U Fun Team
This group is designed for 4-year-olds and new 5-year-olds who have never played baseball. Players in this group will focus on fundamentals, skill-building, and fun through practices and intramural games.
T-Ball (Ages 5–6)
This group is for returning 5-year-olds and all 6-year-olds. Players will practice as teams and participate in intramural games, as well as games with Bayfield T-Ball teams. Games will primarily be coach pitch, with a tee used as needed.

League Updates

Ignacio Youth Baseball is no longer part of the Durango league. We are proud to be part of a newly formed league we helped create — the Southwest Baseball League. This league was built with a shared focus on keeping costs low, benefiting all participating communities, and creating more opportunities for youth baseball.

14u updates

At this time, the 14U division is still to be determined. Registration for 14U is open now at $0 to register, and we strongly encourage interested families to sign up. Registration numbers will help determine whether we are able to form at least one team, and hopefully two, in collaboration with Bayfield and Pagosa.

If a 14U team is formed, the registration fee will be $85 per player.

If a team is formed, our goal will be to:

Practice as locally as possible
Participate in games that may be played in the Farmington league
Pick up additional games along the way when opportunities arise

All details for 14U — including teams, schedules, league play, and final costs — will depend on interest and registration numbers and are currently to be determined.
