Fastpitch Softball
We are working hard to build Girls Fastpitch Softball for our area. We are currently offering 8u,10u and 12u.
If we get enough interest and parent involvement, we can look at offering 14u.
With this we will need parents to help us build a community around their athletes and help run drills and possibly assist in coaching.
If you have never coached before and are interested, please reach out to Jared Ruybal, or come to one of the Sunday clinics.
Any help is welcome.
Ages
Softball divisions based on date of birth:
8u: 9/1/2016-8/31/2018
10u: 9/1/2014-8/31/2016
12u: 9/1/2012-8/31/2014
Example: DOB 9/5/2014 = 10u
When
Season begins with practices end of march early April and go through mid June
Where
Practices will be held in Ignacio, field location tbd.
Games will be played in Durango & potentially Cortez.

We plan on doing 6-8 games during the season with 1 tournament at the end of the season.

Jerseys will be provided.
Extra Costs
Basic Equipment List Needed:
Bat (must have USSSA stamp)
Batting helmet with face shield (all helmets must have a face shield)
Fielding mask (not required but recommended)
Cleats: must be rubber or plastic, metal is not allowed
Softball glove: you’ll want a softball glove – the pocket on a baseball glove is too small. Typically for this age group a size 11 to 11 ½ works great.
